Training

The cycling club is open to all students interested in riding a bike.  We have regular group rides for all skill levels.  Club members are not pressured to race, but those members interested in racing will want to focus on training in preparation for the spring racing season.  The club aims to teach aspiring racers how to improve bike handling, skill, and endurance.  The club holds skill development rides, training camps, time trial practice sessions as well as core and weight training to prepare athletes for the racing season.

Current Riding Schedule:

Saturday – longer ride (4+hrs with shorter option): 9:30 am

Sunday – easy recovery ride (1-1.5 hrs): 10 am

*All team rides leave from the “Gazebo” at the intersection of 13th & University unless otherwise noted*

Core workouts with Coach Dave and/or Maire are held every Sunday evening while school is in-session at the UO Rec Center.  Meet us in the lobby at 6pm.

Additional rides and workouts are announced through the team email list. Ride length and pace are generally announced ahead of time, and weekend rides usually follow routes that allow for different distances.  All weekend team rides are no-drop rides, meaning that we will begin as a group and finish as a group with no rider left behind.  So what’s your excuse?  We’ll see you there!

HELMETS ARE REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION
