Posted on the January 18th, 2010 under Uncategorized by Azul

Hey Everyone,

Our first Mac Court Clean up is this Thursday January 21st at 9:30 pm.  If you are on the team this is mandatory unless you talk to me.

I will have the jackets for everyone there to pick up. If you are not on the team but want to help feel free to stop by and lend a hand.

Please meet in the main lobby (right inside the doors) a little before 9:30 so we can start on time. It should take a couple of hours. See you there.

Mandatory Team Meeting!

Posted on the January 6th, 2010 under Uncategorized by Azul

Hey Everyone,

There is a mandatory team meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday January 7th at 6 pm in Essllinger 107.

Several things we will cover at this meeting are:

1) Boy Scouts of America Insurance: We get really cheap insurance for any team function. It is helpful incase of crashes or other injuries that happen while with the team. I suggest that everyone get it and always be with some one from the team (as long as there are two people from the team in a location, it is a team function). You will need to fill out a form I provide and pay $13.

2) Pactimo orders: I need everyone to place their orders for Pactimo (our team kit).

3) Nike Jacket Sizing: We need to figure out what distribution of sizes we want for the Jackets.

4) Collect $: Please bring checks or cash for stuff you owe (dues, t-shirts, showerspass, nike, pactimo, etc.)

If you can’t make it let me know and we can figure out another time to meet.

Team Core Workouts will be starting next week, Monday Oct 19th. They involve a small amount of running, plyometrics, core work, and strengthening. They’ll start out fairly easy and become harder as you get stronger.
They will be held twice a week at the Student Rec center on:Mondays at 6:30 PM and Fridays at 8:00 AM.
We will meet in the Student Rec Center lobby by the front desk. Wear workout cloths, running shoes, and bring a water bottle. They usually last around an hour and a half. If you have any questions let me know. See you all there,

Team rides to begin this weekend!

Posted on the October 8th, 2009 under Uncategorized by Azul

Hey everybody!

The U of O cycling team will be meeting at  Life Cycle Bike Shop at 10 o’clock AM sharp on saturday, October 10th for the first official team ride!

The ride is non-competitive, will be somewhere between 15-25 miles, and will pedal along at a very easy pace.  Anyone is welcome as this is a great opportunity to get introduced to the sport of cycling!

If you are feeling a little more competitive a ride will be going out at 8:30 at Life Cycle (See link above) to do a faster paced ride before meeting up with the 10 o’clock group.

Be sure to bring plenty of warm clothing, water (very important!), and food (clif bars, a PB&J sandwich, bannanas, even a snickers bar can be empowering fuel on a bike ride).

We go rain or shine, and always have a good time.   Hope to see you there!

Also, please note that helmets are required.
